Pepsi & Doritos

Wow, this was an amazing experience.  It was a summer day in NYC and I was roller blazing to open castings.  I was finishing up an audition for a female hygiene product.  On the elevator down I engaged in conversation with the guy I auditioned with.  He told me about a Pepsi casting happening downtown.  I told him that I don’t have an agent and was not called in for it.  He said I should just show up.  So after skating around the city I decided to go because I will always miss 100% of the shots I don’t take and the worst thing they could do is say I can’t audition.  I walked into the casting office and there were easily 100 people there waiting.  I put my name on the list and when it came time to write down what agent submitted me I just put down the name of the agent of the person’s name above mine.

The photographer came into the crowded room and said “Ladies and Gentlemen I am so sorry there has been a mistake. We have asked way too many people to come.  This is nothing personal and to save both us time I will walk around and simply say ‘stay’ or ‘thank you for coming’.” He cleaned that casting room out in 10 minutes.  When he got to me I was thinking that if I am asked to leave I would not have to be found guilty of crashing an audition.  The photographer looked at me and thought for a few seconds and said “ummm ahhh stay”.  I was 1 of about 15 asked to stay and eventually only 1 of 4 cast for the job.  I not only booked the job but I signed with an agent.  It was funny when she called me and said: “I don’t  know you but apparently we booked a job together so I would love to meet you, how soon can you come to my office, we just booked a National Print Advertisement!
